How tall will each turbine stand?

The height of each tower will be 246 feet tall and the height to the tip of the blade will be 440 feet tall which is shorter than the 500 foot stack of the fossil-fuel polluting Canal Power Plant.

How much area will the wind farm occupy?

The towers will only occupy 0.6 acres of total water surface, which is less than one one-hundredth of 1 percent of the 24 square mile area designated for the project.

How far apart will the turbines be spaced?

The towers will be 6-9 football fields (1/2 to 1/3 of a mile) apart allowing for easy navigation.

Will the turbines be visible from shore?

Will Horseshoe Shoal still be open for public use?

Yes. Boaters and sailors will still be able to enjoy recreational activities in and around Horseshoe Shoals. According to the Final Environmental Impact Statement, recreational activities in the area may be enhanced due to the turbines.
