Buy Green Energy

Buy Green Power

Did you know you can choose what kind of electricity you buy from your electric company? Buying clean and renewable or "green" energy is the single most powerful action a family or business can take to fight pollution and climate disruption. Find out how!

CLEAN is a collaborative movement of organizations and individuals organizing around a specific "CALL TO ACTION."

The "call" is to implement new energy policies based on decentralized control of energy, whereby energy is generated by regionally appropriate, reliable, and renewable resources, such as wind, solar, and geothermal.

League of Women Voters to be Honored
The Cape Cod Chapter of the League of Women Voters will be presented with an award for their diligent and thorough effort researching the benefits and impacts of the proposed wind farm on Nantucket Sound.

The League spent more than two years investigating the Cape Wind proposal. Six members of the League went to Denmark to visit Horns Rev, the world's largest wind farm at the time, to personally assess the visual presence of off-shore wind.

In February, the League published their position statement supporting the Cape Wind proposal. The League said that projects such as Cape Wind are critical in "meeting the energy needs of our area; helping to provide clean air; providing health benefits for our citizens and addressing the issue of climate change."

Jim Gordon to Address CPN MembersJim Gordon, President of Cape Wind Associates, will deliver the keynote address. "Since our members support the Cape Wind project, we felt they would like to hear from Mr. Gordon," said Clean Power Now Executive Director Matt Palmer. Mr. Gordon will address the group regarding the Nantucket Sound wind farm proposal, and be available to take questions.
"Jim looks forward to thanking advocates of clean energy projects on the Cape and Islands for their efforts," said Cape Wind spokesman Mark Rodgers.
