Buy Green Power

Did you know you can choose what kind of electricity you buy from your electric company? Buying clean and renewable or "green" energy is the single most powerful action a family or business can take to fight pollution and climate disruption. Find out how!

CLEAN is a collaborative movement of organizations and individuals organizing around a specific "CALL TO ACTION."

The "call" is to implement new energy policies based on decentralized control of energy, whereby energy is generated by regionally appropriate, reliable, and renewable resources, such as wind, solar, and geothermal.

Dr. Stephen Brown, Director of the Manomet Shorebird Conservation Program, will speak at Cape Cod Community College at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 30, in Lecture Hall A. His works include a wide variety of science and policy issues determined to protect the critical breeding and migration sites of imperiled shorebirds. This in turn helps to target conservation activities where they are most needed.
Brown has an active research program in the Artic National Wildlife Refuge where his efforts will aid in determining the effect that oil development would have on nesting shorebirds.

Brown will speak on the impact of oil drilling on Alaska’s North Slope, climate change and other sustainability issues.

Sponsored by the Students for Sustainability Club and the Economics Club, this event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Those wishing to attend should park in Parking Lot 8, follow the path up the hill and enter the ground floor of the Science Building. Go to the top of the stairs and bear right at the wall mural to the Lecture Hall Lobby.
